Wattle Café Opens in Jersey City at 351 Marin

By Hoboken Girl |

New café alert — Jersey City’s latest shop just opened its doors. Wattle Café, an Australian-inspired wellness food brand, opened up on May 3rd at 351 Marin Boulevard in Jersey City, making this the brand’s third location. The shop is known for taking American classics and adding a healthy spin to them, serving meals made only from whole ingredients. Read on for what we know about the opening of Wattle Café in Jersey City.

All About Wattle Café
In 2017, Australian Ana Ivkosic opened Wattle Café in Murray Hill, NYC. She had a mission for her café: to make healthy food accessible for on-the-go diners who don’t have time to cook for themselves — and let’s face it, the in-a-pinch meals we make for ourselves are often not the healthiest.

Since opening its first location, Wattle has expanded to the Financial District in Manhattan — and now to Jersey City.

“With this latest expansion, we’re excited for Wattle to become a local fixture in Jersey City,” Ana said. She mentioned that she quickly identified her customer base and noticed many of them were leaving New York in favor of Jersey City — hence the decision to set up a shop on the Jersey side of the Hudson. The cafe’s location is in the ground floor of 351 Marin, a newly-completed apartment building a short walk away from the Grove Street PATH Station.

Ana mentioned that she is focused on using her café to support the community around her.“Supporting our local community is our ‘why,’” Ana Ivkosic said. “With this focus, we have created a menu that offers keto, gluten-free, vegan, and sugar-free food options.”

The Menu
The menu at Wattle proudly proclaims that it sits at the intersection between health and taste, so the menu is full of good-for-you ingredients. Its goal is to celebrate diners’ love of food and remove any feelings of guilt by serving food that’s both healthy and delicious. Wattle has vegan, Keto, and gluten-free options designed to cater to various diets, and everything on the menu was created with a focus on wellness.

According to the page’s Instagram, some menu items to look out for are the Gday Fruitopia Pancake, Blue Magic Smoothie, acai bowl, and matcha waffles, to name a few.

To honor its Australian roots, Wattle serves coffee roasted by a NY-based Australian roaster. The beans used are roasted in an organic facility and sourced directly from the farmer who has grown them, according to the press release. This process brings out the full potential of the coffee bean and even sparks flavors of chocolate and caramel.

Wattle Café also sells some of its goodies online, if you’re interested in checking out some snacks. You’ll find waffle batter, various flavors of ‘Bliss Balls’ (nut-based protein balls), and coffee beans.

You can check out Wattle Café daily between 8AM to 4PM.
